A vintage cut crystal jam jar by Webb Corbett, made in Stourbridge, England, the historic heart of British glassmaking. It carries the early Webb Corbett acid stamp, with the name in a half circle above 'Made in England', which dates it to around the 1930s to 1940s.
The rounded body is cut with cross hatching and fans, with a starburst to the base, and it's topped with a wide, flat lid with a scalloped edge and a tall faceted knob. Webb Corbett crystal is known for its clarity and quality of cutting, and the name was retired in 1986, so early marked pieces like this are a lovely find for collectors of English crystal.
Beautiful for jam, honey or marmalade at breakfast, or displayed on a dresser.
