This penguin is signed "Ola & Marie Hoglund" on the base, confirming it as a piece from Hoglund Art Glass, the well-known glass studio founded in Nelson. The body is a soft marbled blend of deep blue and white glass, with a clear glass head and flipper detailing that gives the whole figure real depth and movement.
Please note there is a small chip to the tip of the beak, which we've reflected in the price. It's a minor flaw on an otherwise lovely piece, and won't be obvious once it's sitting on a shelf, but we want to be upfront about it.
Hoglund pieces are genuinely collectible in New Zealand, and this signed penguin would be a lovely find for anyone building a collection or after a piece of local glass art history.
