A charming pair of hand-painted ceramic jug vases in the Deruta tradition, each with a pinched pouring spout, a loop handle, and a textured cream glaze finished with jade green rims. Both pieces are mounted on a round wooden base disc rather than a plain ceramic foot, giving them a nice bit of rustic character.
The smaller jug is decorated with a hanging cluster of grapes and soft green leaves, while the taller jug features golden fruit (lemons or pomegranates) among leaves and small white blossoms, with delicate vine scrollwork tying the design together. The wooden base of one jug is inscribed "Deruta" in pen, a nod to the famous Italian ceramic-making town, though as this is handwritten rather than a stamped or impressed mark, we can't guarantee the maker.
